T5 handles all British Airways flights at Heathrow — every BA short-haul European route and every BA long-haul departure. It is the busiest terminal at Heathrow by passenger numbers. T5 has its own dedicated access road (off the M25/M4 junction at J14) and is geographically separate from the Central terminal area — your driver takes a different approach road to T5 than to T2 or T3, which is why confirming the terminal at booking matters.
T5 also handles Iberia, which shares the terminal as a Oneworld partner. T5B and T5C are satellite buildings connected by an automated people mover — check your boarding pass for which T5 pier you need. Check-in for T5 long-haul BA flights opens 24 hours before departure online, with bag drop from 3 hours before.
Maldives, Mauritius, Caribbean, USA, Seychelles, South Africa via British Airways — all depart from T5. Most BA long-haul routes operate early morning departures (6am–10am window). A 4–5am pickup from Tunbridge Wells or surrounding villages avoids peak M25 traffic.
T3 handles the majority of major long-haul carriers operating out of Heathrow other than British Airways. Emirates, Virgin Atlantic, American Airlines, Delta, Cathay Pacific, Qantas, and Japan Airlines all operate from T3. It is in the Heathrow Central area, sharing the same terminal road as T2 — which means it is easy to end up at T2 when you need T3 (or vice versa) if directions are not clear. Your driver will drop you at the correct forecourt.
T3 is the honeymoon terminal for most Virgin Atlantic routes (Caribbean, USA, Africa) and for Emirates routes (Dubai connecting to Maldives, Seychelles, Indian Ocean routes). Delta and American Airlines US routes also use T3, as does Cathay Pacific for Hong Kong connections.
Both T2 and T3 are on the same terminal road. When your driver drops you, they will confirm whether you need T2 or T3 — do not exit the vehicle and walk to the wrong terminal. Each has its own check-in hall on separate sides of the Central area.
T2 (The Queen's Terminal) handles the Star Alliance member airlines — Lufthansa, Swiss, Air Canada, United Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Turkish Airlines, and SAS among the most common for Kent passengers. If your flight is operated by one of these carriers (or a Star Alliance partner airline), T2 is almost certainly your terminal.
T2 was opened in 2014 and is the newest of the four active terminals. It shares the Central terminal road with T3 but has a separate check-in and departures hall. For Kent passengers connecting through Frankfurt (Lufthansa), Zurich (Swiss), Toronto or Vancouver (Air Canada), or Singapore, T2 is the starting point.
T4 handles Qatar Airways, KLM, Air France, Etihad, and other SkyTeam carriers not at T3. T4 is geographically separate from the Central terminal area — it sits off Stanwell Moor Road and requires a different approach from M25 J14a. Your driver's route to T4 is different from the route to T2/T3.
Note: T4's multi-storey car park has been closed since June 2026 for building works. This does not affect taxi drop-off at the terminal forecourt, but passengers collecting a hire car or using public parking at T4 should check current arrangements with the parking operator.
Qatar Airways (T4) provides popular connecting routes to the Maldives, Thailand, India, Australia, and New Zealand via Doha. For honeymoon and long-haul holiday routes connecting through DOH, T4 is your departure terminal at Heathrow.
Heathrow Airport charges a £7 per entry drop-off fee at all terminal forecourts, increased from £6 on 1 January 2026. The charge applies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at T2, T3, T4, and T5. It is enforced by ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) cameras and is payable online by midnight on the day after the drop-off.

For return journeys from Heathrow to Kent, your C Line Cars driver waits in the arrivals hall of your confirmed terminal, holding a name board with your name. Each terminal has a designated meeting point in the arrivals hall, directly after baggage reclaim and customs exit.
If you cannot immediately see your driver: do not leave the arrivals zone. Call the number on your booking confirmation and your driver will locate you within the building. Flight tracking means your driver already knows you have landed — they are in the building waiting, not in the car park.

If you are connecting between flights at Heathrow, check whether your connection is airside (no need to re-clear security) or landside (you must exit and re-enter security). Airside connections between BA terminals (all within T5) are straightforward. Connections involving different terminals (e.g. arriving at T4 and departing from T5) require going through security again.
